Kathleen Huttlinger, PhD, FNP Dr. Kathleen Huttlinger began practicing population-based, community-oriented nursing in rural Alabama, where she became interested in how culture influences perceptions of health among individuals and families. This interest extended to many global areas including Mexico, Southeast Asia, and Africa. She is currently involved in a research project that is investigating health literacy and other issues related to health care access in Appalachian communities.
